Gemma Atkinson has suggested that fans shouldn't be surprised if she one day appears in Weatherfield as she was quizzed on appearing in another soap.
The Hits Radio host is now probably best known for her presenting but modelling and acting is where it all began. Gemma was best known for playing Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks from 2001 to 2005 before later playing Carly Hope in Emmerdale from 2015 to 2017.
She also made a brief return to reprise the role as Lisa in Hollyoaks just three years ago. But it wasn't long ago that Gemma said a return to soap land isn't on the agenda.
She spoke to the Mirror and said: "I would love to go back to acting again, 100%, I would love to do a one off drama where there was a start date and an end date, so I could plan childcare around it."
But now, Gemma has been asked about possibly appearing in both Coronation Street and EastEnders to complete appeared in the four main soaps in the UK.

Speaking on the Parenting Hell podcast with hosts with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, the latter asked: "Would you try and complete the clean sweep? Would you do, if offered, Coronation Street or EastEnders...?"
To which Gemma said: "I'd do Corrie, again because it's half an hour away. I'd have to commute to EastEnders wouldn't I?" It comes after the mum-of-two had earlier mentioned sticking to jobs close to Greater Manchester to be around for her kids, especially while her fiancee Gorka Marquez works away a lot.

Josh went on: "Corrie would be perfect for you, wouldn't it? You could do it in the morning, pop over to Hits Radio, double bubble..." to which Gemma said: "Could you imagine? 'Mum, can you have my kids 24/7?'"
But Gemma isn't ruling out a return to acting. "I'd love to do something like a drama where there's a start and end date now because you can plan around it. But with soap, I mean, I loved it. I had such a blast on all of them but I had no kids, I had no tie. If they rung me up and said someone's called in sick, you need to be here in an hour, no problem.
"Whereas now... you'd get your schedule the night before so you'd get told what you were doing and it can be from two hours a day to 15 hours a day. Can be all or nothing!"
For now, Gemma is focused on the release of her next project. On Thursday (April 3), she shared a video to her Instagram Story in which she confirmed her next children's book is days away from being released and gave her followers a sneak peek.
In the clip, she told her 2.1 million followers: "Hello! So, a little bit of good news - for me. Remember when I did my children's book, Dog's Don't Dance, my very first children's book? And you all very kindly loved it, I went into Mia's school and read it...
"A few of you messaged me and went, 'You need to do one about Freddie, lol'. 'Where's Freddie?' Well, LOL!" Gemma then lifted up her new book to show the camera and went on: "I've got another one! I've written another children's book!"

The mum-of-two explained: "This one's called 'Let's Get Ready', I won't give too much away because I'm going on Lorraine to talk about this on Monday, but I've used Lisa Hunt again for the illustrations. Lisa's brilliant! It's with Scholastic again, so thank you to you guys. It's out next week but yeah... exciting!"
