Fallout 76 Wastelanders: Strength in Numbers walkthrough (2025)

This page of the Fallout 76 Wastelanders guide has a walkthrough for Strength in Numbers quest. This is the third quest you will receive automatically after completing the Hunter for Hire mission. Our guide will tell you how to find Polly and Sol and how to install the transmitter.

Starting the quest

You will receive the task automatically after completing the previous Wastelanders quest called Hunter for Hire. For starters, open your Pip-Boy and go to the Radio tab. There, select the Transmitter Signal entry.

Use the signal to find the guards

After listening the new station on the radio, the game will mark an area on the map. It is located near Wayward. Go there and look for burnt corpses.

Once you reach the destination, find the charred corpse mentioned earlier. A note is lying next to one of the bodies - read it.

Go to Gauley Mine

Your next destination is the Gauley Mine. It is located near the area where the burned corpse and note were found. Before entering the mine, you will encounter several Scorched - the basic weapons are enough to defeat them.

Once inside, follow the track. You will encounter more opponents along the way. Continue on until you see a character laying on the ground - it is Sol, one of the Duchess's guards. Talk to him - you will get more information about Strength in Numbers, one of the quests in Fallout 76 Wastelanders.

Find Polly

Your next goal is to find the second guard named Polly. Go to the tunnel to Sol's right and follow the path. You will find yourself in a big room with a lot of opponents. After killing them, head to the lower part of the room and enter the tunnel with a green glow.

You will soon find Polly - it is a robot laying on a destroyed cupboard. Talk to him - this will start the next objective.

Defend yourself

Now you have an interesting part of Strength in Numbers, one of the quests in Fallout 76 Wastelanders. You have to defeat a few waves of the Scorched. Use Polly as a laser weapon. There is no point in using your weapon - laser blasts are great at dealing with enemies and can kill most of them instantly. After defeating several waves of opponents, you will get a new objective.

Return to Wayward

Now you have to go back to Wayward and talk to the Duchess. Then take Polly's head - you will find it in the inventory, in the weapons tab. Now move the cursor on the nearby jug and press the interaction button - the head will be placed on the jug. Listen to the conversation between the characters.

Install the transmitter

This is the final part of the quest. You need to install Polly's transmitter into the robot's body in Summersville. The place will be marked on the map. Before heading to the location, stock up on ammunition and medical supplies - you may encounter a lot of armed opponents on the spot.

Summersville is overrun by the aforementioned opponents. They are armed with firearms and Molotov cocktails. In addition, there are several mines laying on the ground. It is best to move slowly and take out enemies one after another. Once the area is safe, enter the marked building.

Inside, reach the upper part of the room. You won't meet any opponents here - just keep going higher and higher. The first and second doors must be lockpicked, and the third door must be opened with the card received from the Duchess. At the top, you will find the marked robot - interact with it.

Completing the task

All you have to do now is to go back to Wayward and talk to Polly. This completes Strength in Numbers quest. As a reward, you will receive experience, medicine, and food. You will also unlock another Fallout 76 Wastelanders quest called The Elusive Crane.
