fantasy art inspired by acid house

  Ecstatic Blue

The inspiration for this painting was acid house music, and clubbing. Perhaps it might not seem obvious to some, but it was the influence of all the coloured lights, and crowds of moving people, plus the very fluid sounds of the music, with it's trance like rhythms which I liked to listen to when I was working in my studio. The method of painting was similar to that of Paradise lost, working with layers of acrylic, painting on the floor.

The colours have a synthetic quality to them that is particular to acrylics, which I think suit the style of brash colours.
